The Challenge
Credit Line Plus (CLP) is an automotive vehicles financing system developed by the then CFS Group (now IDS Group) for their IBM iSeries (AS/400) using the AllFusion:2E (SYNON/2E) case tool. CLP has been designed for the administration of a wide range of dealer and supplier credit functions. IDS wanted to outsource the maintenance of this application to an offshore provider to be able to derive a cost advantage.
The Solution
Systsoft Systems & Software maintained the entire CLP solution installed in the UK from its office in India. Systsoft and IDS developed a project management methodology using Systsoft's ISO certified processes that provided the basis for the successful outsourcing arrangement for over two years. Systsoft also upgraded the dealer stock finance module of the application by converting the "green screen" interface into a web-based interface using the JWalk tool from Seagull Software.
The Benefits
There was a single point of contact for all requirements and along with well documented processes for all change requests and their resolution, the outsourcing arrangement was a success, leading to significant cost savings for the client.
