V-Link Taxis, a part of the Meru Cabs Group, provides Corporate Taxi services to companies for the daily transportation of their employees from their homes to the offices and back. They are spread over 4 major cities and have several large customers in the IT, BPO and Call Center businesses. They transport more than 10,000 people everyday, with a fleet of over 750 vehicles.
The Challenge
V-Link does not own the fleet of vehicles, which are provided by several small and medium sized vendors. Hence, V-Link has to bill customers and pay vendors for the services provided on a monthly basis. They had had a manual system of recording trips and calculating the billing and payment amounts. This was further complicated by the fact that the methods of billing are completely different for each client, there is a huge amount of vendor and vehicle turnover, and significant scope for mistakes and data manipulation.
The Solution
Systsoft Systems & Software developed a complete Trip Entry and Billing & Payment system for V-Link to enter and calculate the vast amounts of data that were being generated on a daily basis. Due to this large volume, the data entry interface is optimized for the comfort of data entry operators, high performance and maintaining data integrity.
The entered data is put through several business rule checks - to ensure correctness and validity of the data. All valid data is used for calculations of Billing & Payment information. Due to the various methods of billing and payment data processing is complex as well. Finally, there are several other internal reports to calculate profitability, vendor performance and so on.
