Systsoft Systems & Software has designed a model of outsourcing by Onsite Software Companies to reduce the problems associated with outsourcing while retaining its cost advantage. This model, called the O2P2 © Model (Onsite Offsite Provider Partnership) advocates a partnership between the Onsite Provider (or the Onsite Software Company) and Systsoft to leverage on their respective strengths.
Onsite Providers have an intimate knowledge of the customers and culture. This allows them to understand customer requirements better, leading to more accurate system design. They are also more sensitive to change management issues and hence are better equipped to carry out system implementation.
On the other hand, an Offsite Provider like Systsoft has an advantage in development and testing of systems. They are able to deliver systems at a lower cost and faster by increasing the number of people on the project.
In the O2P2 © Model, the Onsite Provider (OP) does the Customer Management, while Systsoft manages software development. The OP converts customer requirements into system specifications, which are then passed to S&S for development and testing. The tested code is then passed back to the OP that then implements the solution.
Hence the O2P2 © Model is beneficial to customers who benefit by retaining the cost advantage of outsourcing while reducing the risks and hidden costs. It also benefits IT services providers, both onsite and offshore, by minimizing the social costs of outsourcing. Thus the O2P2 © Model is a win-win partnership Model for the future.
