Re-Locate is designed specifically using the Software as a Service (SaaS) model. This means that the solution does not need to be purchased, and installed at the client site. Re-Locate is offered to the clients as a subscription to a web-based and hosted application, on the cloud, which can be directly accessed by all authorized users of a subscribing client from any location.
The Re-Locate Cloud application is web based and does not have any client data; it only uses the metadata of the database. This metadata is the information about the files - the file names, field names, data types, sizes, etc. This information is used to setup the various steps of data migration project. The users based on their requirements define these setup parameters. These parameters are then used to generate a series of SQL Scripts that will actually move, transform and validate the data.
Re-Locate Runtime is a client-server based execution engine that runs the SQL Scripts generated by Re-Locate. This component is not on the cloud, but on a local server within the client's network. This ensures that the client data stays within the client's secured network, and the data security remains intact.
